"Album of Death" by
Moustache of Insanity

Hello all, you might be amazed to find me reviewing yet another soon to be released album, but here I am doing it again. I got a chance to preview the "Album of Death" by Moustache of Insanity from Britain, set to be released the week of Aug 22, 2011. The thing that really grabbed me is their use of a variety of vintage Casio keyboards, gameboys, electric guitar and drum machines to deliver catchy pop tunes. This really appeals to that side of me that digs old movie scores with the snyth/electronic sound. Nik Vestberg is a self proclaimed horror geek and many of the songs contains reference to this love. Some tracks completely focus on movies which I'll discuss below.

"We Need More Awesome" is about watching the 1987 film "Predator", but apparently the singer's wife/girlfriend is not a fan. Really, a song about "Predator"? It doesn't get much better than that!

The song "Argh! No!" opens with Crazy Ralph from the original "Friday the 13th" declaring "It's got a death curse!!!". The song goes on to examine those standard behaviors so many victims of horror films find themselves in. Fans of slasher flicks should dig this track.

The lead single "Lynn Lowry" talks about the singer's interest in the actress from 70s horror films and his preference for the old horror films from that era. This track is one I definitely identify with.

This album has 13 tracks total, but I had to touch on some of the stand out tracks. Now I'm sure you are interested to hear them now… well you are in luck. Below I have a preview/free download of the "Lynn Lowry" track and an option to order the album. Enjoy!
