Evil Dead (Full Soundtrack)
Joseph LoDuca

Here the now out-of-print score/soundtrack to the 1983 horror classic "Evil Dead" as composed by Joseph LoDuca.

The score has a very eerie, creepy vibe to it all the way through, which meshes extremely well with the film. The score reminds me of the "Hellraiser" score by Christopher Young in that it didn't rely solely on synthesizers and has some fantastic live instruments that give the music a larger, deeper feeling. Don't get me wrong I love the synth stuff, love it. However, for a film like this the music adds a lot to the film that is really a low budget flick. The film has a larger feel when the visuals are accompanied by the haunting music heard here.

This soundtrack/score is for the most part very timeless and not dated. There are few cues that scream 70/80s, but that' never a bad thing. With Halloween around the corner, this could be a great addition to your spooky soundtrack collection. If you haven't seen this flick I highly recommend it. It's a bit more straight horror than that comedy edge that appeared in the later sequels.
