Subspecies
(Complete Soundtrack/Score)

Today I have the out-of-print score/soundtrack to the 1991 Full Moon Entertainment vampire film "Subspecies" the score was done by Richard Kosinski and Michael Portis.

The score in pretty entertaining and fitting to a vampire tale. It has a bigger sound than some horror films of this budget range which I think is really nice. The Aman Folk Orchestra is to thank for a nice execution here. I absolutely love the album artwork here!

Admittedly I haven't seen this flick in it's entirety so as far as the film goes I can't speak to that. It's always been one on my "I have to see it" list.

Wolfmen of Mars - "The Breather"

Hello all, I've been away for a bit as I've had some computer issue of late, but I'm getting it together. In the interim of me getting a new out-of-print soundtrack up I have something to share.

I have here a brand new song from the group Wolfmen of Mars from their soon to be released EP "Digital Penetration". They were kind enough to let me preview and share the song here.

Wondering why I would suddenly showcase an artists work... well their style is heavily influenced by horror soundtracks/scores from the 70s and 80s as you'll hear when you listen to the song "The Breather" below. It has those great weird elements that I've grown to love on scores from the days of yore.

Check out the tune below and if you are interested in keeping up with them follow them on Twitter at http://twitter.com/WolfmenOfMars. Enjoy!

** UPDATE **
The "Digital Penetration - EP" is now available on iTunes to purchase at the nice price of $5.94. If you like what you hear below and are a fan of scores from the 70s/80s get this album. It will be a great addition to your music collection.

Tales From the Darkside- Theme
Donald Rubinstein

Here is the theme to the "Tales From the Darkside" television show. It was a fun horror themed TV show in the vein of Twilight Zone and Outer Limits. There were some great episodes. I've read that George Romero originally wanted to do the show as "Creepshow", but Warner Bros. had the rights to that name or something like that so they ended up doing it as "Darkside"
I have both the instrumental and version with the voice over. It's a great creepy theme that gave me an uneasy feeling when I was little.
As an added bonus I have an additional song thrown in. Donald Rubinstein's theme he composed for the "Monsters" TV show that was a similar show to "Tales From the Darkside".
Man lives in the sunlit world
of what he believes to be reality.
But, there is, unseen by most, an underworld,
a place that is just as real,
but not as brightly lit.....
A DARKSIDE.
