IHOP Commercial: 1969

Here is one of the weirdest old school commercials I've seen in some time. It's a 1969 TV spot for the popular pancake restaurant IHOP. This one has all kinds of madness written on it and so many questions. Why are they running to the place with balloons? Where do they park their balloons? The music and singing is one of the most head scratching things about this commercial, yet it's the most alluring to me. It's like some little ghoulish imp is singing... possibly tipsy off a malt liquor/high fructose syrup mix. Watch and listen and see if you don't find yourself rewinding for a second viewing.

Wow that sounds like they recorded a munchkin singing under water. And those balloons creep me out for some reason. ;)

Brian, that weird singing and the balloons are nightmare inducing. The balloons seem to be like that cherry on top the whole weirdness of it. (thanks for commenting... my cold life blood stirs)

Sorry but the mom's face cracked me up. She was all ooooh a salad while the rest of my family gets the good crap! Thank god she has balloons for the fun of it.
