RE-UP: 12 Monkeys - Paul Buckmaster (full soundtrack)

I had a request to re-up this one from fellow readers Uncle Mike and Gary. So here is the full soundtrack to the Brad Pitt and Bruce Willis flick 12 Monkeys. The soundtrack is mostly score stuff by Paul Buckmaster with a few pop tracks in there, which I thought was actually a nice addition to the soundtrack.

Sometimes there are those 3 or 4 songs that never make it to the soundtrack, but they are here as well. I haven't seen this movie in quite some time, but I remember it being very weird and quite different than most of the stuff that came out around the same time.

Aliens VS Predator Requiem (first reaction)

Hey all, I just got back from seeing Aliens VS Predator Requiem, and I have to say it was awesome. I'm a huge fan of the Alien and Predator flicks and this lived up to that feeling I get when I watch Predator, Predator 2, Alien and Aliens. This is definitely rated R, much more gore here for fans of the gore in previous installments. The story was pretty good too, and the setting of this small Colorado town gave the film a different look than the other films. I really liked the look of the Predator in this one too, he looked more like the Predators from the first and second movie as far as his mask, armor and weaponry. It wasn't the more over the top huge weapons in AVP1. I won't give anything away, but to say as far as human victims go, nobody is safe.

Also, the score was actually pretty good, the composer seemed bring in familiar sounding music from the Predator scores by Alan Silvestri, but with his own twist. If any of you have seen this feel free to drop your comments, I'm curious to hear other fan reaction.

Super Smash Bros Melee - Japan Philharmonic Orchestra (Full album)

I know this isn't movie related, but its entertainment... video games that is. This is the album for the game Super Smash Bros. Melee for the Nintendo Gamecube. This album came out back around the time the game first came out and was part of a special gift to Nintedo Power subscribers.

The in game music here is performed by the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra which is very enjoyable twist to classic Nintendo themes, especially for fans of Super Smash Bros. Melee or Nintendo fans in general. Enjoy!

Karate Kid - Various Artists - Full Soundtrack

Here is the full album of the Karate Kid various artists release. This is one that I've been looking for and finally got my hands on it. I wanted to share it with all of you. This is one of my all time favorite movies ever! If you a big fan of this flick the songs will all be pretty enjoyable.

This is the official release so unfortunatley it doesn't have one of my favorite tracks from the flick, the Bananarama "Cruel Summer". I have that track and will try to get it on this blog for fans of that one. Stand out tracks are ""Feel The Night", "No Shelter" and "Young Hearts".

UPDATE - Rocky Horror Punk Rock Show

Here is quick post that I meant to put up before Halloween, but I never got around to it. I have two tracks from the "Rocky Horror Punk Rock Show" album. Wes Craven's "Shocker" - complete score

Today I have the score to the 1989 Wes Craven film "Shocker" starring Mitch Pileggi, best known for his portrayal of the character A.D. Skinner from the X-files. I'm a fan of Wes Craven's work and this flick wasn't one of my favorites. When I think of good Craven flicks Nightmare On Elm St., People Under the Stairs, Last House on the Left, and Scream (written by Kevin Williamson) I think that anything he did after Nightmare On Elm Street was always compared to Freddy, but this movie is certainly strange and original as far as I know. It wasn't the usual Halloween/Friday knock-off here, so give Craven credit for something different. I haven't seen it in some time, but what I remember is that the character of Horace Pinker was able to travel using electricity and kill his victims that way.

X-Files - "Don't Look Any Further" by Dennis Edwards

Here is a strange track that might not seem very Halloween-ish or creepy on the surface, but fans of the X-Files season 7 episode "Orison" will know this one very well..

This track is the Dennis Edwards song "Don't Look Any Further" that Scully hears over and over throughout the episode. With the creepiness of Donnie and his attachment to Scully "the one that got away", this episode was able to make the song a bit frightening. So this is for all you X-file fans, Enjoy!

Lost Boys (Score) - Thomas Newman

Today for your near Halloween pleasure is the score by Thomas Newman for the vampire classic The Lost Boys. I won't talk about the flick too much here as I'm sure all that can be said about it has been said. What I do want to say is that I've never seen this score out on the blogs and happened to come across this gem while hunting for another soundtrack.

Needless, to say I don't know how complete or incomplete this version is. From what I have I'm guessing it's all the tracks from the score, 19 tracks to be precise (although there is one dialogue track), but if anybody has more information on this please let me know. But heck even if this is missing a track or two I'm sure die-hard Lost Boys fans will love this one. Enjoy!

Pet Sematary - The Ramones (single track)

Here is the track "Pet Sematary" by The Ramones. This is one of my top 10 favorite various artist "title" tracks for a flick. J Geil's Band's "Fright Night", and Dokken's "Dream Warriros" tracks are up there too, but this one really stands out to me. Tthe lyrics go with the Pet Sematary story pretty well. Overall a very well crafted track from one of punk rocks greatest bands. This wasn't included in the original soundtrack/score to the film, but released as a CD single back in 1989 (as far as I know).

Rap and Horror Movies come together.

I was going to begin posting a whole bunch of horror/sci-fi film soundtracks here to get in the spirit of Halloween, but as I am quite a fan of soundtracks I'm also a big fan of West Coast gangster rap. Before, I start posting other soundtracks I wanted to drop this out there for fans of either soundtack scores or rap music. There have been a few rappers that have incorporated some great horror scores into their songs. Today I have 3 rap songs using samples from some great scores to make pretty great sounding music. I like to see strange unexpected samples like this as opposed to the same James Brown and Parliement samples used over and over. Check out these tracks if you have an interest in either genre. I have included both the rap song and the original score track that was used for the song. Let me know what you think. 1. Freddy's Greatest Hits - Elm Street Group

It's getting close to Halloween (in my book) and I thought I'd post something that you may want to add to your halloween mix of songs at your costume parties and what not. Here is a strange Nightmare on Elm Street related bit of history. The "Freddy's Greatest Hits" album. It's actually not as bad as you might think that it is... but it's not as great as a you may think either. It falls somewhere in between being cool and just sort of some corny little footnote in horror history. The songs overall aren't too bad. They sound like something that would have shown up on the "Fright Night" soundtrack... that type of sound, but not quite the same level of production to the tracks.

Freddy doesn't sing, he just kind of ad libs though all the tracks. Stand out songs are "Down in the Boiler Room", "Don't Sleep" and "Obsession". There is one insturmental track called "Elm Street Dreams" that I actually love. Anywho take a listen and... sweet dreams!

Another great blog

I have discovered a great new blog (new to me anyway) in the last couple of weeks. "Soundtracks Lover", this guy has an amazing number of shares available... and one notable score for the many people who have visited my blog for "Bloodsport". He has a link to the recently limited release of Paul Hertzog's "Kickboxer" score! I'm telling you that that score is worth getting just for the tracks "The Eagle Lands" and "Advanced Training".

Also, I have re-upped the Neon Maniacs "End Theme" from a request I got, so the link is live again. Look for it down below in my July 13, 2007 post.

Bloodsport - Paul Hertzog (full soundtrack)

I received a request to re-post the Paul Herzog's score to the Van Damme "classic" Bloodsport. So here you go... enjoy! It also features the two songs "Fight To Survive" and "On My Own - Alone".

However, the album versions of those two tracks are performed by Paul Delph, the movie features Stan Bush singing those songs. So as an added bonus I threw in the Stan Bush "Fight to Survive" track I ripped from the DVD. Why you ask? Frankly, I prefer the movie version of the track.

Also, if anyone out there has the Kickboxer soundtrack I'd love to get that one.

New Blog Look!

Today I would like to introduce everyone to the new look of the blog. I had a friend of mine cook up this new banner and color scheme. George Hardy interview on Badmovies.org

There is an interview with George Hardy on the Badmovies.org site and it's worth checking out to read what one of the actors from Troll 2 has to say about how the flick has achieved some crazy cult status as one of the best/worst flicks of all time. IMDB has it listed at #16 in it's worst 100 flicks. Certianly a strange interview, how often to you get to hear from stars of your favorite bad movies.

Pino Donaggio - The Howling (full soundtrack)

Here is the full soundtrack by Pino Donaggio for the flick "The Howling". The best, in my opinion, werewolf movie of all time. Fantastic special effects, great looking monsters and a fun "monster movie" story. The score is my favorite of Pino's work, it really seems to capture the feeling of the movie and it's classic creatures.

Joe "Bean" Esposito - You're The Best AroundKarate Kid soundtrack (1 track)

This post is Joe "Bean" Esposito's "You're the Best Around" track from the Karate Kid (pt 1). This is one of my favorite tracks from the flick, next to "Cruel Summer" and since I saw that Dusted Soundtracks had some Karate Kid part 2 tracks I thought I'd join in on the fun and post a track of my own.

James Horner - Aliens (Full Soundtrack)

Here is the full 9 track Aliens score from James Horner. This is my favorite Alien flick. It combined the eerie creepiness of the original as well as having fantastic action scenes with the marines battling the Aliens. The Alien Queen is by far the coolest thing in this flick. I won't say to much else because I'm sure everyone has seen this one. I've also listed the track listing for those of you that want to know what tracks are on here and compare it to the 24 track Deluxe Edition score.

King Kong "Main Title/A Boat In the Fog" by Max Steiner (1 track)

I have the Main Title theme from the original, the classic 1933 King Kong film. This flick gave birth to one of the most legendary movie monsters of all time.This movie was the first stop motion animated film I saw when I was little and was amazing to see the battles Kong got into on his island. The music score by Max Steiner perfectly fits Kong's story and adventures. This track came from the "King Kong: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack".

There have been remakes and sequels and one particularly bad, but enjoyable flick pitting the mighty Kong against Japan's most feared monster Godzilla. It was a little corny, but still fun to watch those to beasts battle.

"We'll give him more than chains. He's always been king of his world, but we'll teach him fear. We're millionaires, boys. I'll share it with all of you. Why, in a few months, it'll be up in lights on Broadway: Kong, the Eighth Wonder of the World."

Fan made Predator helmets

I recently found a Predator fan site called PredatorStuff.com that has tons and tons of information on toys, collectibles, props, fan made costumes and more.

One of the most amazing sections to look at is the section of fan made Predator helmets. The work these guys do is amazing, check it out if you are a Predator fan.

Theme From Ghost World - David Kitay (1 track)

Here is the Ghost World theme song from composer David Kitay. This track is from the Ghost World soundtrack. The soundtrack has a pretty eclectic mix of stuff. Like this track along with some of the goofy songs from the movie like "Graduation Rap" and also has a number of the classic "old timey" songs the character Seymour listens to. As for the Ghost World theme, it's probably my favorite track from the movie. It seems to capture the humor and drama of this flick into one great theme.

Also if you didn't know this movie was based on the graphic novel of the same name by Daniel Clowes. If you haven't read it and you are a fan of this flick you should definitely pick up a copy. It has many things that are seen in the movie, but also a lot of stuff that didn't make it into the flick. I guess that's how it goes with any film adapation based on a book/comic.

Seymour: You think it's healthy to obsessively collect things? You can't relate to other people, so you fill your life with stuff... I'm just like all these other collector losers.

Phenomena - "Jennifer" & "Jennifer's Friends" (2 tracks)

This post is here to correct a mistake I made in one of my first posts I made on this blog. I incorrectly posted saying I had the download available for the track "Jennifer" from the film Phenomena that I made ripping the track from my DVD.

I have recently relaized the error of my ways and that track was actually called "Phenomena". So, to fix that error for the people who may have downloaded that song hoping it was "Jennifer" I NOW have the actual "Jennifer" track by Goblin here and as an added bonus I have the "Jennifer's Friends" track as well.

"Jennifer's Friends" could very well be my favorite Goblin track of all time! I know there are a lot of Goblin fanatics out there who may disagree.

These two tracks came from the soundtrack "Phenomena: The Complete Goblin Original Instrumental Sound Track Album". That has to be the best all time title of an album ever... how can you top a title like that?

Strangers With Candy - End Credits song

Here is the song that appeared during the end credits of the Strangers With Candy movie. I'm a huge fan of the TV show that was on Comedy Central a few years back and was excited they were going to do the movie. Finally after waiting... and waiting the movie was released on DVD. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't classic either. It really didn't get as crazy as I thought it would have, I think the show was much better than the flick, but that's comparing 3 seasons of shows to 1 movie so it's probably not fair and they tried to work in as much stuff for the fans as they could. The commentary track is quite enjoyable on the disc as well.

Anywho... the track here is pretty good and touches on a bunch of stuff about Jerri Blank and that's not a bad thing. I don't know if there was an actual soundtrack from this movie or not, if not here is at least one track and certainly the best song from the movie.

Jeepers Creepers (two tracks)

I've been away for awhile. Things have been busy lately, but I have a new posting... finally. Today's post is two tracks from the Jeepers Creepers soundtrack. These are the two old time songs performed by artists other than Bennett Salvay who did the score for the film. One is the "Jeepers Creepers" track by Paul Whiteman. The other is "Here Comes The Boogey Man" by the BBC Dance Orchestra. Both seemingly non-scary tracks, but when you think about this flick it gives them a sinister feeling.

I have to say this is one of my all time favorite horror flicks and certainly one of the best modern horror movies that didn't rely on ripping off Jason or Michael Meyers. The Creeper is a genuinely original movie villan and certainly pretty cool looking.

Halloween - remake news

I was just checking out the Creature Corner website and saw they have a new story regarding the new Michael Myers mask and DVD special features. Sounds like the new Michael Myers mask is completed and Rob Zombie is very excited about how it turned out.

Rob Zombie - "I've just seen Wayne Toth's finished mask for Michael and all I can say is "HOLY F#@K". It looks perfect. Exactly like the original. Not since 1978 has the shape looked so good. Wayne worked this sucker to death and boy did it pay off."

I'm actually pretty intersted to see how remake/re-imagining turns out. He's had some decent horror flicks that he's put out and he seems like a real fan of the original, so I'm sure he will give it his all. I hate the idea of most remakes, but I'll wait to see this before I make my any comments about it.
