The Howling - Pino Donaggio
(Full Score/soundtrack)

Here is the full soundtrack by Pino Donaggio for the flick "The Howling". The best, in my opinion, werewolf movie of all time. Fantastic special effects, great looking monsters and a fun "monster movie" story. The score is my favorite of Pino's work, it really seems to capture the feeling of the movie and it's classic creatures.

Although I have to say in recent months I have fallen in love with "An American Werewolf In London", that is a very close second to the Howling, perhaps it's even tie. They both have great stories, scenes, and just both have an overall different tone to each film to make them in my opinion movies that stand on their own and not films that compete... it's late I don't know what I'm trying to say

"You can't tame what's meant to be wild, doc. It just ain't natural. "

Space Olympics by Andy Samberg from SNL

Ok, this has nothing to do with a movie or tv soundtrack, or even Halloween for that matter, but I'm loving this SNL Digital Short "Space Olympics". I thought it was dumb at first, but it's gotten steadily better and better and now it's just plain genius to me. I have a download of the song below... but just in case you are unfamiliar with the song and video check out the video I have embedded below. It's worth a peek.

Here is the final in my Halloween movie soundtrack posts. John Carpenter's score to the 1978 slasher classic Halloween. Some say this kick started the slasher genre, others disagree with this point. However, I don't think anyone can argue this is one of the best horror films of all time. This is certainly a favorite of mine this time of year. The score is spectacular, very slow paced and moody and haunting. It's one of Carpenter's finest scores.

I'll try to get more horror film scores/soundtracks on here in the coming weeks.

"I watched him for fifteen years, sitting in a room, staring at a wall, not seeing the wall, looking past the wall - looking at this night, inhumanly patient, waiting for some secret, silent alarm to trigger him off. Death has come to your little town, Sheriff."
