Alien3 - Elliott Goldenthal (Full Score)

This is Elliot Goldenthal's score/soundtrack to the third film in the Alien series, "Alien3". Probably the third best stand alone Alien flick. It has plenty of good moments that elevate it above just re-hashing what Alien and Aliens did, but it's not classic by any means. The biggest issue I take with the movie is the very beginning, and the killing of beloved characters from the previous film. The score works very well with the movie. Matches up with previous Alien films and fits the dark and creepy setting of the prison planet the story takes place on. I'd say the soundtrack is worth getting for the cue "Adagio" alone.

April Fool's Day - Charles Berstein
(Full Score/Soundtrack)

Here is Charles Berstein's score/soundtrack to the 1986 horror/holiday classic "April Fool's Day". This is not to be mistaken for the awful remake that came out recently. Charles might be best known for his score to "A Nightmare on Elm Street", but this score is pretty fun, if you are a fan of the film or 80s scores.

This movie comes off at first as a sort of "Friday the 13th" remake of sorts and at first the movie progresses through the standard unfolding of events in somewhat predictable manner. However, to me it's that final few minutes and reveal that make the movie really enjoyable. As a side note the girl with the pony tail shaped in a noose has always been a memorable image. However, if you know the movie very well, who is she exactly other than to help mask who the killer is when you are watching the film.

"Boy Muffy, you really know how to make a guy look forward to... dessert." - Chaz
