The movie, and hopefully this isn't a spoiler, is set in the 80s. The original score is great haunting stuff, but I really loved those few scenes when pop music of the time was used when the characters had music on. One great example of this is when character Samantha puts on her WalkMan and headphones and cranks up the track "One Thing Leads to Another" by the band The Fixx. This really captured for me that love I have of hearing pop music in 80s classic films. When done right both the scene, and music are somehow enhanced... and probably forever now when I hear this song the movie will come to mind and that, my friends, isn't a bad thing. Now of course this isn't a true film from the 80s, but it is a film that was done in that style/vibe if you will. Done expertly.
